Well, hi there!

Hi friends! Welcome! I am SUPER excited to be starting up this blog! I've really been wanting to have an outlet where I can share my life journey with you all...so what will that entail? I want you all to know some about me but I want to TRY to keep this short- I know you all are busy and just want to get to the GOOD stuff.

Here the main idea of what you'll find here:

  • inspiration
  • guides to healthy living
  • progress pictures on my own healthy journey and some of my dear friends and challengers
  • mommyisms and adventures of having a new little toddler
  • life lessons from personal development that I've read or listened to
  • my growth as a Jesus-loving mom, wife, and friend
  • a glimpse into my life as a coach
  • trainings for the coaches on my team and others who are also on the mission to #endthetrend of obesity and help people get healthy!
Told ya...my life journey
Oh and pictures...I love pictures :)

Okay- now for a bit deeper dive into who I am:

  • I grew up in Lafayette, IN.
  • I played softball since I was 5.
  • I started playing competitively when I was 8...(that might give you an idea of just how SERIOUS this sport was in my life.)
  • I went to University of Louisville to pitch for their softball team.
  • That's where I met my husband who was a linebacker on the football team.
  • We actually took an acting class together and did a skit together where we played husband and wife...when we barely knew each other. (Foreshadowing ;) )
  • His final playing season ended in 2011, mine ended May 2012.
  • We got married June 30, 2012. (Yep. That was fast. ...proposal and wedding day post to come at a later date!)

  • From July-November of that year, we took some time away from the healthy lifestyle/mandatory workout/rigid schedule we were used to.
  • A couple weeks before Thanksgiving, we found out we were to have a baby!!
  • Because I hadn't been working out the past several months, it made me nervous to begin a workout plan- everything I had done the past 4 years was INTENSE and definitely not safe for a developing baby...so I used that as an excuse to not workout at ALL.
  • By the time our Miss Kennedy came on July 23, 2013, I had COMPLETELY fallen off the healthy train. I packed on 60 pounds during my pregnancy. I promised myself I would get my body back.

  • I had to have an emergency c-section to deliver our sweet girl. After staying in the hospital a week to recover and be with our sweet girl in the NICU (pneumonia from swallowing fluid), I had to be re-hospitalized because my incision became infected.
  • When my daughter was about a month old, I realized I was STILL only in my hubby's 2x clothes, breastfeeding was NOT helping me lose weight, and if I didn't draw a line in the sand, I was going to keep gaining that weight back. (Nursing doesn't mean you can still eat pizza and fries all day and lose weight...more on that later.)
I'm going to fast-forward through this next part because I want to go WAY in depth in future posts...
  • I joined a challenge group on Facebook.
  • I started T25 and Shakeology.
  • I lost the last 40 pounds I had gained plus 10 more.
  • My body changed. My mind changed. My mood changed. My whole freakin life changed.
  • I decided I wanted to to help others find this happiness through healthy living as well, so I became a coach.
  • I started building a team of people who have the same goal- we want to #endthetrend of obesity in this country and give people their lives back.
And now we're here.
So there you have it... I hope you'll find these little snippets into my life entertaining but more importantly, valuable to your life. My goal is to spread love and light and help you live a little healthier and a little happier. <3
